Product Features

Paper Roll Composition

A complete paper roll is composed of multiple layers of composite materials, primarily including:

Base Paper: Typically paper cup base paper made from virgin wood pulp, offering excellent stiffness, tensile strength, and food safety. The weight (thickness) and quality vary depending on the paper cup application (cold drink cup, hot drink cup).
Coating:
- PE coating (Polyethylene): The most common inner and outer coating. Food-grade polyethylene plastic is uniformly coated on the base paper surface after high-temperature melting. Its primary function is to prevent leakage and penetration of liquids including water, oil, and coffee. For hot beverage cups, PE coating also provides insulation properties.
- PLA coating (Polylactic Acid): A bio-based biodegradable material derived from plants such as corn and cassava. Used for manufacturing environmentally friendly or compostable paper cups. Functions similarly to PE but requires specific industrial composting conditions for degradation.
Printing Layer: For patterned paper cups, printing is applied to the base paper before the PE coating. Typically uses flexographic printing with environmentally friendly water-based ink.
